All Kinds of Right

Scott Skirving

Doak Turner

Steve Mitchell

You throw air kisses at me, across a crowded room

So I give you that wink that says I’m so in sync with you

Yeah, the party is alright, but it’s time that we get gone

I gotta have you to myself, and how can that be wrong?

You are all kinds of right

All kinds of beautiful

And I kinda like

That somehow you don’t know it

When you shine your light

I can find my way back home

Yeah, you’re all kinds of right

All kinds of right

And all kinds of beautiful

You make me laugh when I don’t want to, mainly at myself

I’m much easier to hang with, more fun to be around

You soften all my edges, but you’ve given me that edge

I walk into a room now, and I got confidence

Feelin' Again

Keith Anderson, EMI

Kim Williams, Sony Tree

Buddy Hyatt, 3-5-11

I hit the snooze on my alarm, couldn't sleep any longer

lately I've been feelin weak, so I make my coffee stronger

I save my cryin for the shower, so the tears will wash away

And I'm not half as mad at God, as I was yesterday

Some days i'm sad and lonely, some days I'm fighting mad

Laughin cryin cussing, missin what we had

But at least I'm feelin again,  and though it seems sometimes the hurt will never end,

For so long I was numb, but the pain has finally come

and at least I'm feelin again, and though I don't know if my heart will ever mend

sometimes when I smile, I still have to pretend

But at least I'm feelin again

Turned on the radio and heard our favorite song

Couldn't stop my lips from trembling, as I tried to sing along

it brought back memories I've tried to erase

I guess I need to realize they'll never go away.

Channel repeat

Chorus

Sometimes when I smile, I still have to pretend

But at least I'm feelin again

BACKBONE

Bishop/Turner

I'll be catchin' that bus first thing in the morning She'll just be gettin' the kids to the school bus stop

We'll be startin' our soundcheck in New Orleans She'll have worked a full shift, stopped at the market, put her key in the lock

No I don't quite know how she does it But, I know it's just because of her that I'm free to reach for my dream...

I'm the voice, but she's the song

I'm the storm, but she's the calm

I'm the hand holdin' onto this microphone

While she's holdin' down the fort on our house and home

And when my head is in the clouds

She keeps her feet right on the ground

She's a solid rock for this rollin' stone

I couldn't do it alone, she's my backbone

Our oldest has a soccer game on Tuesday Guess who’ll be leadin’ the cheers, in the home-team stands

The other’s got a science fair on Friday I’m just a voice on the phone, she’s their teacher and coach, at the wheel of the van

Knowin’ that she’ll be on the sidelines Makes bein’ in the spotlight possible for me - how blessed could I be...

            Repeat chorus

And tho she’s always there behind the scenes

She’s never in the shadows, she’s a superstar to me

I’m the voice, but she’s the song

She’s my spine, straight and strong

She’s the sweet kiss greetin’ me when I get home

At the end o’ the road, she’s my backbone

Day 335 (Three Thirty Five)

Layne/Turner

It’s Day 3 35 since I lost my best friend

She was like a little sister with her whole life ahead

They found her on that park bench a letter in her hand

Empty Bottles all around her she knew it was the end

I gave the preacher the note she left

Still sealed with the whiskey kiss

He read it at the grave site

And I lost my breath when he said:

I’m sending hope down from Heaven

Healing from my God

You’re at a crossroads and

I hope you choose to learn

From one life lost

Choose to walk those steps

 I should have taken

I was too proud

To take them on my own

If I would have known

It started as a party after high school football games

6-packs of cold ones innocent and unafraid

Party rolled on through college with no worries on our minds

Didn’t think much about it we could quit anytime

I stand looking at her letter

Those words have saved my life

I’m getting stronger in every way

And it’s day 3 35

I’m sending hope down from Heaven

Healing from my God

You’re at a crossroads and

I pray you choose to learn

From one life lost

I pray you’ll walk those steps

 I should have taken

I was too proud

To take them on my own

If I would have known

(chorus)

BR: They say - first a man takes a drink

Then the drink takes the drink

Then the drink takes the man

She’s sending hope from Heaven

Healing from our God

I’m at a crossroads and

I choose to learn

From one life lost

I choose to walk those steps

I wish she’d taken

I don’t have to

Take them on my own  I’m living one day at a time  And it’s Day 3 - 35

Every Now and Then

Doak Turner

After Tuesday

Verse 1

Hello Sue, what seems to be wrong

It's okay, you can tell me

Things aren't the same, something's changed,

He's not the way he used to be

PC 1

He may say that’s it's not about you

But I'll give it to you straight from a man's point of view

Chorus

Every now and then

A man could use some flowers

(Would like to talk for hours)

And it won't hurt one bit

To write him a sexy note

(Come to the door in just a coat)

Sometimes a man wants to make the second move and be wooed

Every now and then

Verse 2

It's alright, how could you know

Cause most guys won't (don’t) tell you what they need

Is it pride? That keeps it inside

That's been the age-old mystery

PC 2

I'm not sayin’ I've got the cure

But I'll tell you one thing's for sure

Chorus

Every now and then

A man could use some flowers

(Would like to talk for hours)

And it won't hurt one bit

To write him a sexy note

(Come to the door in just a coat)

Sometimes a man wants to make the second move and be wooed

Every now and then

Anything For My Baby

Dionne

McConnel

Turner

I’d pull the sun down from the midday sky

So she could count the stars

I’d gather up all of Saturn’s rings

So she could throw them around Mars

I’d search the heavens for the one sure truth

She always wanted to find

And write it down in sweet words of love

On her heart and mind

I’d do anything for my baby

Anything at all

I’d do anything for my baby

Anything at all

I’d drain the mighty Mississippi dry

If her flowers needed rain

Fill every canyon in the great divide

With the sound of her name

I’d build her a castle out of ocean sand

And dare the tide to come in

For every loving thing she does for me

I’d hold back the wind

I’d do anything for my baby

Anything at all

I’d do anything for my baby

Anything at all

All she has to do is say the word

And for her love I’d move heaven and earth

Chorus – repeat 3x

Don't Make Me Want You

Hill

Rayne

Turner

All it takes is your phone call

Oh what your voice does to me

Can’t let you win me back over

You know that I’m too weak

When the night falls as I’m dreaming

I try not to see your face

Chorus

Don’t make me want you

Don’t make me love you

Don’t want to go there

Like before

My heart keeps breakin’

You’re so good at making

Me want you more

Don’t make me miss you

It hurts to need you

Don’t make me want you

You had to know you always had me

From the moment we first touched

Deep in love but I was drowning

Love should never hurt that much

It was everything about you

It was taking all of me

(chorus)

Drive Her Like She's Stolen

Dionne

McConnel

Turner

Last night I met Kenny at the Come On Inn for a couple of drinks and this girl walks in

She had a big ‘ol boy by her side, but with a smile and a wink she caught Kenny’s eye

Kenny said, Man I’m gonna get that girl I told Kenny, Hell give it a whirl

But I should point out the man is big as a house If you get her out the door

Don’t fool around

You better driver her like she’s stolen

Keep those four wheels rollin

You’d better slam that pedal flat against the floor

Cause if Hoss Man sees ya going out the door

Somethings gonna be broke or swollen

You’d better driver her like she’s stolen

About a half an hour later Hoss went for a beer Kenny walked over and whispered in her ear

She must have said yes ‘cuase she grabbed her purse, I swear the whole thing coulda been rehearsed

Well Hoss musta seen them cause he headed outside yellin’ and a fussin a fit to be tied

They made it to the truck and Kenny jumped behind the wheel the girl started yellin, Boy make them squeal

You better driver her like she’s stolen

Keep those four wheels rollin

You’d better slam that pedal flat against the floor

Cause Hoss has done seen ya goin’ out the door

Somethings gonna be broke or swollen

You’d better driver her like she’s stolen

When the bouncer finally gave me the 4 1 1

I called Kenny and said guess what you’ve done

Hoss is the deputy on call tonight

That’s the sheriff’s daughter, Kenny run for your life

You better driver her like she’s stolen

Keep those four wheels rollin

You’d better slam that pedal flat against the floor

Cause her daddy’s been called and I’m pretty dang sure

Somethings gonna be broke or swollen

You’d better driver her like she’s stolen

Repeat 2x

Drive Her like she’s stolen

Well we won’t see Kenny for a little while

Fire and Steel

Gofroth

Turner

Grandpa was a hard workin man

Had the skin of a rhino and the heart of a lion

He worked that steel from dawn to dusk

He gave everything he ever earned to us

Sittin on his lap one night I asked

Pa’ where’s your strength come from

He said when life gets tough

You wipe your brow and remember what you’re made of

It takes fire to make steel

Don’t give up on what you feel

Light that flame and let it burn (oh, oh)

Fear shows its face and whispers doubt but it ain’t real

Cause it takes fire to make steel

Singing my songs on every stage around

Loving what I do and hearing that crowd

But million white lines on miles of blacktop

Gets so lonely and I want to lay it all down

Then I hear my grandpa’s voice from above

Saying when life gets tough

You wipe your brow and remember what you’re made of

Turn up the heat I’m strong I can take it

I won’t back down cause quitters never make it

I know this is where I belong

So I’ll just keep on keepin’ on

You're Beautiful To Me

Peterson

Turner

I never saw you coming

I just turned around and you were there

If someone had told me that I’d start to care

The way I do for you in just an hour or two

I’d told them that’s just crazy

Yea but sittin’ here fojust me and you

I’d admit I’d have to eat my words

And that’s unheard if you know me

I guess you do

Cause you blew past my defenses

Whispered in my ear

You’re beautiful to me ohhh

Plain and simple how you always wanted it to be

Baby if everything I do attracts ya

I say right back atcha

You’re beautiful to me

I’ve got a strong suspicion

This here is gonna last a while

Ten bucks says I can make you smile

Your favorite smile without even touchin’ you

All this anticipation

I’ts killing me oh what the heck

Double or nothing says I’ll loose this bet

Either way I get to be next to you to you

I can’t loose oh would you mind one more time

Whisperin’ in my ear

If everything I do attracts ya

I say right back atcha

You’re beautiful

You’re beautiful

You’re beautiful to me

God's Job

Gibson

Turner

Talk about a crazy day

Morning news talking about the hurricane

Then I went to work and had a fight with my boss

I heard someone won the lottery how come that never happens to me

And I just got pissed off

Then I stopped by for a beer there was an old man sitting there

He said “Son, looks like you could use a drink”

Seems you’ve got the weight of the world on your shoulders

Let me tell you what I think

That’s God’s job it ain’t up to us to worry about things

We ain’t supposed to figure out

That’s God’s job and he ain’t in a hurry

He knows why we’re here and where we’re bound

Well I know sometimes we wonder why some folks have to suffer

While others skate through life without a scratch

What’s up with that, I’d like to know then maybe not

That’s God’s job

Well he said I ain’t no preacher

But I’ve had a good teacher yea Father Time taught me thing or two

Somewhere in the bible it talks about survival

And doing the best that you can do

Well he turned up his glass

Said, “Here’s to the past and the things we can’t change

But wish we could

We’re all just pilgrims lost little children”

That’s when I think I finally understood

BRIDGE

I turned around and he was gone

But the words are etched like stone

On my memory the lesson that he taught me

2nd chorus

That’s God’s job it ain’t up to me to worry about things

That’s God’s job and he ain’t in a hurry

He knows why we’re here and where we’re bound

Well I know sometimes we wonder why some folks have to suffer

Grandma Doesn't Need Them Anymore

McCormick

Turner

The old hard shell Baptist preacher said we’re gathered on this cold October day

But this woman’s life has been more of a sermon than any words I’ll ever say

I know she’s finally reached the end of a path that leads through heaven’s open door

So save your prayers for each other cause Grandma doesn’t need them any more

Ladies from the church brought twenty covered dishes down to our home place

As we stood and prayed in a broken circle tears rolled down everybody’s face

And we gathered up all the things that Grandma wrote our names on years before

Then carried home her worldly treasures ‘cause Grandma doesn’t need them anymore

And I sure do miss my grandma and all the words of wisdom she would say

Even in my darkest hour I hear her gentle whisper softly say “It’s gonna be OK”

I think about the way her values shaped my life right down to the core

Then smile and wipe away my tears ‘cause Grandma doesn’t need them anymore

All things come and go and that’s the way it surely is upon the earth

So another cold October day a little baby girl is given birth

And she was given a name that served so well another girl a century before

Yes we gave her both of Grandma’s names ‘cause Grandma doesn’t need them anymore

And we’ll give her all our hugs and kisses ‘cause Grandma doesn’t need them anymore

And we say our prayers for each other ‘cause Grandma doesn’t need them anymore

Some are glued to their bar stools

Some hale from Alabama

I’m in good company

I Believe In Us

Sumner

Turner

I know it takes a lot of faith  in someone to stay when times get hard

The world says the odds are against us if promise till death do us part

Right now it’s uncertain what our future will be

But I’ve got this feeling about you and me

I believe in the sun even when it’s not shining

I believe in God even when he is silent

I believe in love and there’s no denying

I believe in us

We talk about one day maybe building our own home

Where we will live and what we’ll name our babies

I can’t say I know Years from here we’ll be looking back

We’ll be together There will be proof of the fact

Bridge

We don’t know the when’s or how’s

But I know who And there is no doubt

I believe in the sun even when it’s not shining

I believe in God even when he is silent

I believe in love and there’s no denying

I believe in us

I believe in the sun even when it’s not shining

I believe in God even when he is silent

I believe in love and there’s no denying

I believe in us

I believe in love and there’s no denying

I believe in us
